Lindsay Lohan formally charged with grand theft

In the article I read it talked about Lindsay Lohan's case that she just got tried for. She apparently stole a $2,500 necklace. I don't understand why she would steal it because she obviously has enough money for a $2,500 necklace. I think she needs to learn a lesson from this, because she's facing a maximum 3 years in prison. She's also setting a bad example for her younger sister, Ali, and I think that she's going to end up exactly like Lindsay.
